Organisational Change
These are times of change. Organisations need to be able to balance seemingly contradictory ways of operating: flexibility versus clarity of purpose, collaboration versus competiveness, being nimble and at the same time being steadfast.
We support boards to govern and position their organisation during turbulent times, to gain greater clarity about the purpose and mission, to skilfully managing the resources and, as far as possible, to future proof the organisation. futures Upfront supports include training, governance reviews and strategic planning, including scenario planning.
We mentor, train and guide senior staff and management to build and enhance the strengths of the organisation in managing and growing staff and supporting and engaging with stakeholders and communities by working alongside people to review and improve policies and practices, projects and programs.
We work with staff to provide the skills, knowledge and thinking that is needed to attract and maintain consumers, build relationships and connections that provides excellent services to the people who first choose, and then stay with the organisation.
On behalf of the organisation, we work with stakeholders and engage in communities to connect and build relationships so that organisations can use their social capital to deliver the best services and supports.

Some recent work:
Hunter Prelude is based in Kurri Kurri. The service, being partly located within the year 2 roll out of the NDIS in the Hunter and having had some experiences with individualised funding through the Commonwealth, needed to get clear about its business model of how it will deliver services to children and families who have individualised funding packages.
The work was partly funded through the NDS Panel of Experts. It involved a governance and strategic planning review, working with all staff on a PATH plan for the organisation, a redevelopment of all communications and marketing and a skill analysis of the board. The organisation has implemented many of the recommendations and is now working systematically through the recommended actions.

“Barbel spent a fair bit of time talking with staff, Board members and myself individually as well as a group
to discuss the implications of change and what the service has to do meet the changes. It has been
very valuable for staff to have had the opportunity to raise their concerns with someone who they felt was providing support to the service. Her feedback on processes and documentation was also very valuable”
(Rani Dibley, Director)
