I used to be miserable because I was bullied when I was at school. I was very unhappy, but my Grandpa was a pastor in the Church and I felt welcomed there, so I started to help people. When I help people, I feel much happier and much more confidant.
Now I am involved in peer support. I lead a group and I do training on consumer rights. To make people feel welcome I smile at them and say hello."
I acknowledge that my work is conducted on the land of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nations. I pay my respects to Elders past, present and future, for they hold the memories, traditions, Cultures and aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Sovereignty was never ceded.
